Eisha Singh: What excited me about OBSESS was its emotional unpredictability
The trailer of OBSESS starring Eisha Singh and Peter Wilson has been unveiled ahead of the film’s release on May 29. Positioned as a psychological thriller, the film delves into themes of road rage, revenge and emotional conflict, exploring how a seemingly ordinary incident gradually spirals into obsession and psychological turmoil.
The trailer offers a glimpse into Eisha Singh’s character, whose life takes a disturbing turn after she crosses paths with a psychologically unstable man played by Peter Wilson. What begins as an unexpected encounter soon escalates into a tense and emotionally charged battle, with the narrative exploring fear, trauma and the consequences of unresolved anger.
Speaking about the film, Peter Wilson, who has also directed and conceptualised the project, says, “OBSESS is more than just a thriller or a road rage story. It explores emotions like anger, ego, humiliation and obsession. As an actor and director, I wanted the audience to experience the psychological intensity that runs through the film. This project is special to me because it pushed me emotionally and creatively.”
Writer and creative director Sam Bariah shares that the team wanted the story to remain emotionally layered while retaining its psychological tension. He says, “With OBSESS, we wanted to create a story that feels emotionally powerful while also remaining psychologically engaging. The film looks at how a moment of anger or humiliation can spiral into something destructive. Our aim was to present a layered and emotionally driven cinematic experience.”
For Eisha Singh, the emotional unpredictability of the narrative became one of the strongest reasons for taking up the project. The actor reveals that the psychological intensity of the story, coupled with the emotional arc of her character, immediately drew her to the film. She says, “What connected me instantly to OBSESS was how real and unpredictable the story feels. My character goes through fear, confusion and emotional trauma after one unexpected incident changes her life completely. It’s intense, raw and emotionally demanding, and that is what excited me about the film.”
Eisha Singh, who is known for television shows such as Ishq Ka Rang Safed, Ishq Subhan Allah and Bekaboo, was also seen in Bigg Boss 18. With OBSESS, the actress steps into a darker and more psychologically intense space, quite different from the roles she has been associated with on television.
