Emeralds shine as wedding jewellery
Diamonds, forever a woman’s best friend, has serious competition – at least in the bridal jewellery space. Thanks to a number of high-visibility celebrity weddings recently, emeralds are fast turning out to be the gemstone of choice for many brides planning their wedding ensemble.
Among the newest brides in B-town, Parineeti Chopra accessorised her wedding outfit with a layered necklace made of emeralds and uncut diamonds in an antique finish. Jawan actress Nayanthara, who wed director Vignesh Shivan in June 2022, wore a Zambian emerald choker, polki and Russian tumble necklace along with a satlada chain with a flaming red sari on her big day. Kiara Advani paired Zambian emeralds with natural diamonds to go with her pastel lehenga at her wedding in February this year. For the reception, she sported a necklace with rows of teardrop-cut emeralds separated by diamonds.

For Kiara’s wedding, she wore a tight emerald choker, and Sidharth Malhotra, the groom, also wore the same gemstone. Women are pairing simple saris, gowns or even evening dresses with emeralds. Deepika Padukone wore an emerald choker with a pendant for her reception and it looked
