At the News18 event, the actress said that naturally her film was supposed to be released. She put all her personal property on it. Now that it’s not released, so anyway, that’s what properties are for – for times of crisis.

According to a recent Zapkey report, Kangana sold her Pali Hill bungalow for Rs 32 crore. The actress had acquired the property for Rs 20.7 crore in September 2017. In December 2022, she took out a Rs 27 crore loan from ICICI Bank against this property. The bungalow was used as the office for her production house, Manikarnika Films.

In 2020, the BMC began demolishing parts of Ranaut’s Bandra office due to illegal construction. The Bombay High Court stopped the demolition on September 9. The actress sued for Rs 2 crores in compensation but dropped the claim in May 2023.

'Emergency' was initially scheduled for release on September 6 but was delayed due to pending censor board approval. The film has also faced calls for boycotts and bans from various Sikh organizations, who accuse it of misrepresenting their community.
