Esha Deol recalls slapping a man who touched her inappropriately at Dus premiere in Pune: 'Men cannot take advantage of being physically stronger'
Esha Deol, who is the daughter of veteran actors Dharmendra and Hema Malini, recently revealed an incident where she was eve-teased at the premiere of her film Dus in 2005, held in Pune. During an episode of The Male Feminist, the actress shared that she didn’t let the situation slide. She pulled the man from the crowd and slapped him.
Recalling the event, Esha explained that despite the presence of several strong bouncers and her co-stars Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Zayed Khan and Abhishek Bachchan, a man from the crowd inappropriately touched her.
"It happened in Pune during the premiere of the film Dus which had Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Zayed Khan and Abhishek Bachchan. So the premiere was there and we were going through the crowd. All the artists were entering one by one when I entered and there were many big and strong bouncers around me too. Despite that, a man from the crowd touched me inappropriately. Something happened to me and my instant reaction was that I held the man’s hand and took him out from the crowd and slapped him,” she shared.
Esha explained that she is generally not a hot-tempered person, but when someone crosses her tolerance level, she feels compelled to react. "Also, a woman should definitely react in such situations. Just because men are physically stronger, they cannot take advantage of it. I also believe that women are emotionally stronger,” she added.
On the work front, Esha was last seen in a short film Ek Duaa. She next has Main and Telugu film Hero Herroine in her kitty.
