Exclusive: Ashoke Pandit says Ranveer Singh told FWICE 'Don 3' dispute is beyond their jurisdiction
The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh over the 'Don 3' dispute. A day after the directive was officially issued, FWICE chief advisor Ashoke Pandit revealed that the federation made three separate attempts to reach the actor before taking action. The disclosure added a new dimension to the ongoing controversy surrounding Singh's abrupt exit from Farhan Akhtar's 'Don 3'.
He said, "So we very strongly tried our best. We sent him invitations thrice. There was no response, and then finally he sent mail when he came to know that we are having a press conference, saying that this doesn't come under your jurisdiction," Pandit said.
He added that the federation remains open to dialogue and is willing to wait for a resolution. "So we said, fine, if you feel so strongly. Toh theek hai. Koi baat nahi. Doesn't matter. So that is a basic thing; we will wait. We'll sit with the producer body. Will sit with different associations, and we'll see how things happen," he said.
Multiple reports suggest Singh exited due to creative differences; he reportedly wanted a darker, more aggressive version of the character, including stronger language and heightened violence, while Farhan Akhtar reportedly preferred to stay closer to his original vision for the franchise. Reports also indicated that Singh was frustrated by repeated production delays and the absence of a locked final script.
It is important to note that Ranveer Singh has not issued any official statement clarifying his reasons for exiting 'Don 3'.
