Exclusive! ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ fame Harshaali Malhotra: I would love to work with Salman Khan uncle again
Do you remember Salman Khan’s ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ co-star Harshaali Malhotra? Yes, the very cute 7-year-old ‘Munni’ is now all grown-up and how! She recently took the internet by storm with her
ETimes took this opportunity to get exclusively in touch with the now 12-year-old Harshaali who, in a candid chat, opened up about her trending pictures, her equation with Salman Khan, Bollywood plans and much more! Excerpts:
Your pictures are trending on social media and fans are stunned with your new and grown-up look. What do you have to say?
I am happy that my pictures are again trending on social media. Thank you to all my fans that they still love me so much. And yes, I have grown up the way every girl does at this age. Thanks to all the nutrition and the right kind of diet by my mom.
Do you handle your Instagram handle or your mom does?
My mother handles my social media accounts because she thinks that I am still young to handle it myself. But she keeps me updated about the messages from my fans to keep me encouraged.
Did you see the memes your fans have made with your new pictures? How did you react?
No, I haven’t seen them as I am travelling post Diwali but I would love to see them once I will be back.
How often do you spend time on social media?
As I told you that my mom handles my accounts, so I really don’t hang out on social media.
What are your plans in Bollywood? When will we get to see you back on the big screen?
Definitely I want to be an actress as everyone knows. I would love to be back on the big screen as soon as I get a good role and I am hoping to get it soon.
Were you offered any films after ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and did you reject them due to studies?
Many movies were offered after ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, even from the South but those roles were not as good as Munni. I am capable enough to manage my studies and my passion together. So I will not reject any good role because of my studies.
Who do you want to work with and why?
I would love to work with Salman uncle again and all the other superstars are excellent. I would also love to work with anyone if I get the opportunity and if my role is good.
What kind of films do you watch? Did you watch any films in lockdown?
I like to watch every kind of movie which has a good storyline. I watched many movies and series. What else could I have done in lockdown? No school only online classes.
What does Harshaali like to do in her free time?
In the current situation, I watch TV, play with my dog Leo, and the best time pass is to annoy my brother and play PS4 with him (laughs).
How would you define Salman Khan as a co-star?
Salman uncle is caring, affectionate, funny and very supportive as he used to guide me between the shots.
Are you in touch with him? Did you speak to him on Diwali?
As he is a busy person, we don’t talk too often. But I definitely wish on his birthday and on different occasions.
What are your fondest memories of ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’?
Everyone knows that I was fond of going to ATV rides with Salman uncle and Kabir Khan uncle, playing table tennis with them on the sets and many more!
