This is Reliance Entertainment’s fifth creative partnership with a leading Indian filmmaker to form a production company. A talented director-writer, Imtiaz has received wide appreciation and acclaim from audiences and critics alike, along with success at the box office. Over the years, he has also won several awards for his movies.

Right from his first film Socha Na Tha (2005), Imtiaz has made many films with newcomers and superstars alike. His filmography includes Jab We Met (2007), Love Aaj Kal (2009), Rockstar (2011), Highway (2014), Tamasha (2015), and

(2017). This creative and business mix will benefit from the artistic abilities of Imtiaz, and the global marketing and distribution capabilities of the studio.

Amitabh Jhunjhunwala, Vice Chairman, Reliance Entertainment, said, “We are proud to have Imtiaz as our partner. Despite his success, he is a person of deep simplicity and humility, and we are looking forward to making great movies together.”
Talking about the partnership, Imtiaz shared, “There is a common vision that Window Seat Films and Reliance Entertainment share in terms of content that we would like to make, the kind of stories that we would like to tell and the way we want to collaborate. Working under this partnership is like working for myself.”

Reliance Entertainment has produced, distributed and released more than 300 films in multiple Indian languages, including Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Bengali. The studio also has creative partnerships with Phantom Films (Anurag Kashyap, Madhu Mantena, Vikas Bahl and Vikramaditya Motwane), Rohit Shetty Picturez, Plan C Studios (Neeraj Pandey) and Y NOT Films (S. Sashikanth).
