From Salman Khan-Prabhudheva to Ranbir Kapoor-Ayan Mukerji: Actor-director duos to reunite in 2020

If the year 2019 was a year of fresh pairings, 2020 is going to be a year of reunions. While on one hand, Bollywood actors are all set to reunite with co-stars from their previous movies, it is also going to be a year of actors reuniting with their favourite directors.

Many Bollywood actors who earlier saw success in collaboration with these directors are now returning to the same filmmakers for old times’ sake. After ‘Wanted’ and ‘Dabangg 3’, Salman Khan will be collaborating with Prabhudheva for his next, ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’. Similarly, Varun Dhawan is back with his dad-director David Dhawan for ‘Coolie No. 1’ and Ranbir Kapoor is back with BFF-filmmaker Ayan Mukerji for ‘Brahmastra’.

Here we give you a rundown of actor-director duos who are all set to come together once again to entertain you in 2020.

Salman Khan and Prabhudheva

Prabhudheva directorial ‘Wanted’ was a turning point for Salman Khan in his Bollywood career and since then there has been no looking back for the superstar. After a long gap, the actor collaborated with the filmmaker again for the third instalment of his popular ‘Dabangg’ series.

Now, Salman is all set for their third collaboration together with their upcoming film, ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’. The movie also stars Disha Patani, Randeep Hooda and Jackie Shroff in pivotal roles.

Ranbir Kapoor and Ayan Mukerji

After ‘Wake Up Sid’ and ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, Ranbir Kapoor is all set to reunite with his BFF and filmmaker Ayan Mukerji for their upcoming film together, ‘Brahmastra’. The movie has been in the news ever since it was announced.

Ranbir will be seen sharing the screen space for the first time with his ladylove Alia Bhatt in the movie. The fantasy drama will also feature Amitabh Bachchan, Dimple Kapadia, Nagarjuna Akkineni and Mouni Roy in key roles. It will also have Shah Rukh Khan in a special appearance.

Varun Dhawan and David Dhawan

After working with father David Dhawan in commercial entertainers like, ‘Main Tera Hero’ and ‘Judwaa 2’, Varun Dhawan is all set to reunite with the filmmaker in the official remake of ‘Coolie No 1’.

Varun will be seen reprising the role originally played by Govinda. He will be seen sharing screen space with Sara Ali Khan for the first time in the movie. She will be seen essaying the role of Karisma Kapoor.

Aditya Roy Kapur and Mohit Suri

Aditya Roy Kapur’s first film as a lead ‘Aashiqui 2’ was directed by Mohit Suri. The film not only garnered limelight for the actor but also gained him accolades for his brilliant performance.

After years now, the actor and the filmmaker are all set to recreate the magic with their next, ‘Malang’. The movie also stars Disha Patani, Anil Kapoor and Kunal Kemmu in pivotal roles. The trailer of the movie has already created a lot of buzz amongst the movie buffs.

Tiger Shroff and Ahmed Khan

Apart from reuniting with his ‘Baaghi’ co-star Shraddha Kapoor, Tiger Shroff will also be coming together with his ‘Baaghi 2’ director Ahmed Khan in the next instalment of the movie.

Apart from Shraddha Kapoor, the movie will also feature Disha Patani in the movie.

Varun Dhawan and Remo D’Souza

Varun Dhawan starred in his first dance-based movie ‘ABCD 2’ which was directed by choreographer-turned filmmaker Remo D’Souza. The actor showed off his dancing prowess in the movie and was quite appreciated for the same.

Now, the actor is all set to mesmerise one and all yet again with the third instalment of the popular franchise titled, ‘Street Dancer 3D’. Varun will be seen reuniting with his ‘ABCD 2’ co-star Shraddha Kapoor for the film.
