A film that speaks through silence

‘Gandhi Talks’ is directed by Kishore Belekar, who shared that the film is built on silence and emotions. As per a report by IANS, he said the idea was to go back to the roots of cinema. According to him, early cinema depended on expressions and feelings, not words. This film follows the same idea. “Gandhi Talks is a film about trusting silence. As Indian cinema marks over a century of storytelling, we wanted to return to the medium’s most elemental form pure performance and emotion,” he said.

Music becomes the voice

The director explained that the film trusts silence to tell its story. There are no spoken dialogues. The emotions are shown only through performances, visuals, and music. He said the actors fully trusted the idea and were ready to explore this vulnerable form of storytelling. “The actors embraced that vulnerability completely, and A.R. Rahman’s score became the film’s voice,” he added.

‘Gandhi Talks’ will be a black comedy film which will show the contrast between Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals and the reality seen today.
It will be feature a young man struggling for money and how his paths cross with a thief.
