Actor Girish Kumar, who made debut in 'Ramaiya Vastavaiya' in 2013, was in Lucknow on Wednesday evening to promote his upcoming film 'Loveshhuda'. And well, it wasn't the actor's first visit to the city. 'I remember visiting Lucknow three years back too," shares Girish excitedly, adding, 'People at Bhartendu Natya Academy had invited me to watch plays, which featured college students. It was an amazing experience to watch those young actors perform so confidently."
Girish Kumar saves 'Loveshhuda' crew member from drowning Son of film producer and a music company owner Kumar Taurani, Girish feels that it was quite easy for him to make an entry in Bollywood. 'Being from a filmi background, the only advantage you get is while making your debut in the industry. But once you get a good platform, the responsibility is on your head, to not just perform well, but also to make it financially viable. At the end of the day, the audience will not see 'ki aap kiske bete ho, kiske bhai ho ya kiske nephew ho,' they will love you only for your work. Kitne star sons and nephews aaye hai who have failed to make their mark in Bollywood."
He adds, 'Also, the worst thing about being a producer's son is that you take your work home.
You cannot just wind up your work on the sets and go home."
The actor who was once overweight, called for a special trainer from South Africa to achieve six-pack abs in three weeks, for his debut film. When asked if he also went for any physical transformation for this movie as well, Girish says, 'Yes, my look is very different in 'Loveshhuda' compared to what it was in my first film. While I shed oodles of weight for my debut movie, I had to gain weight for this one, since I was required to look younger and healthier. Also, while for the first half of the movie, I needed to gain extra kilos, for the second half, I had to lose a few kilos to get in shape. It was a lot of hard work.'
Girish's film's teaser was recently in the news when it got an ` A ' certificate by the Censor Board because of the word `bed' in it. The teaser had to be edited to get a UA certificate from the censors. A disappointed Girish says, 'I don't know why they did it, but we can't argue with the Censor Board on their decision. 'De diya toh de diya'. However, our film is not that bold, it only has a bold concept. It's not a sex comedy. One night stands and flings 'hote hain, so jo ho raha hai wahi dikha rahe hain'."
