Rohit Shetty has once again teamed up with long time collaborator
Ajay Devgn as work begins on ‘Golmaal 5’. The director actor duo has reportedly commenced filming in Mumbai, marking another chapter in one of Hindi cinema’s most popular comedy franchises. Their association has previously delivered several commercial successes, and the latest installment is expected to carry forward the trademark chaos and humor. The production had briefly slowed down earlier this month, but the team has now resumed operations with renewed focus.
Priyamani to share screen space with Ajay Devgn for the first time
According to Moneycontrol, Priyamani will be joining the ensemble cast of ‘Golmaal 5’. This project will mark her first full fledged collaboration with Ajay Devgn. Interestingly, she had earlier appeared in a special dance number in Shetty’s ‘Chennai Express’. Her addition is expected to bring a fresh dynamic to the established comic lineup. If confirmed, it will be intriguing to see how her role is woven into the franchise’s trademark madness.
The upcoming film is set to feature franchise regulars such as Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu and Shreyas Talpade. Adding to the excitement, Sharman Joshi is reportedly making a return to the series after nearly 20 years. He was part of the original ‘Golmaal: Fun Unlimited’, which laid the foundation for the successful franchise. His comeback is likely to spark nostalgia among fans who remember the first film fondly. The makers appear keen on blending old favorites with new energy.
Akshay Kumar rumored for negative role
There is also speculation that Akshay Kumar may step into the film as an antagonist, although there has been no official confirmation. Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar previously shared screen space in ‘Singham Again’, and their pairing received attention from audiences. If the rumor turns out to be true, it could add an interesting twist to the comic narrative. For now, the possibility remains a talking point rather than a confirmed development.
