Giving more details about the incident, a video of Govinda’s brother Kirti Kumar addressing the media is doing the rounds on social media. We can see him reassuring fans that Govinda is improving and thanked everyone for their good wishes.
When questioned about the specifics of his injury, Kirti clarified that while there were rumors about a thigh injury, it was indeed his toe that was hurt. He emphasized that what mattered most was Govinda's recovery rather than the exact location of the injury; he said that there is ‘nothing to worry about; the point is not whether he got shot in his thigh or toe but that he is now improving.’

In an audio message recorded from his hospital bed, Govinda expressed gratitude towards his fans and medical staff. He stated, “This is Govinda. With the blessings of my fans, my parents, and God, I am doing better now. I suffered a bullet injury, but I am feeling fine now. They have removed the bullet. I thank my doctor, Dr. Aggarwal, and all my fans who prayed for my well-being.”
Govinda's manager explained to ANI that the actor had been getting ready for an early flight when the revolver misfired. "We had a 6 AM flight to catch for a show in Kolkata, and I had reached the airport. Govinda Ji was about to leave his residence for the airport when this accident happened," said the manager. The revolver reportedly fell while being stored in a cupboard, causing it to misfire. Thankfully, it was due to "God’s grace" that Govinda only sustained a leg injury and nothing more serious.
