Govinda's manager REVEALS the family will issue a statement after wife Sunita Ahuja returns to Mumbai from Kolkata- Exclusive!

Actor and politician Govinda accidentally shot himself in the leg with his gun at around 4:45 am while heading to an appointment. He was immediately rushed to the hospital and is currently recovering.

Meanwhile, Govinda's wife, Sunita Ahuja, who was in Kolkata at the time of the incident, is expected to return to Mumbai soon. In an exclusive chat with ETimes, Govinda's manager, Shashi Sinha, explained, "Govinda was preparing to leave for Kolkata. As he was putting his licensed revolver in its case, it slipped from his hand, and a bullet was accidentally fired, hitting his leg."

"Govinda's wife Sunita Ahuja is coming back to Mumbai from Kolkata. The family will issue a statement once she returns." Shashi added.

As fans have been worried, Govinda has now reacted to this incident and assured his fans that he's safe. The 'Hero No. 1' star said in a voice note,
"Namaskar, pranaam, main hoon Govinda, aap sab logon ke aashirwad aur maa-baap ka aashirwad, guru ki kripa ke wajah se goli lagi thi par woh nikaal di gayi hai. Main dhanyavad deta hoon yahan ke doctor ka, aadarniya doctor Agarwal ji ka aur aap sab logon ki prarthana jo hai, aap logon ka dhanyavad, pranaam (I am Govinda. Thanks to your blessings, my parents’ blessings, and the grace of my guru, I was shot, but the bullet has been taken out. I thank the doctors here, especially Dr. Agarwal, and I appreciate all your prayers).”

The actor's wife and daughter have later confirmed now that he's doing very well after the bullet was removed and will be discharged soon. MAny other celebs including Shatrughan Sinha, Raveena Tandon and others visited Govinda in the hospital.
