Amidst the growing rumors about the separation of Bollywood actor Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja, Govinda's sister, Kamini Khanna, has now reacted on the issue.
In a recent conversation with IANS, Kamini addressed the rumours surrounding Govinda and Ahuja's separation. She admitted having limited knowledge about the situation, citing the busy schedules of both Govinda and Sunita. Kamini stated, "No, I don't know much. I stay very busy, and they are very busy too. We meet very rarely, so I don't know much. I don't want to say too much on this topic because both families are involved, and I have a lot of love for both."
Talking about her bond with Sunita, Kamini shared that their relationship is deeply rooted in mutual support and friendship. She explained, "Our parents are no longer with us, so we are like parents to each other. And we are also very good friends."
Khanna felt that it wasn't right to contact Sunita and Govinda about the rumors. Even though she knows about the speculation in the media, she thinks personal matters like these should be dealt with privately within the family. She stressed that it's crucial to respect Sunita and Govinda's privacy, especially when it comes to sensitive topics like their relationship.
Meanwhile, reports claimed Sunita issued a separation notice six months ago. However, their lawyer clarified that the couple has resolved their differences and remains together. Sunita explained that they live separately due to Govinda's political commitments and frequent gatherings at his bungalow, while she stays in their flat with their children. She dismissed the divorce rumors, asserting that no one could separate them.
For the unversed, Govinda and Sunita Ahuja tied the knot on March 11, 1987, after dating for three years. The couple welcomed their daughter, Tina, in 1988, followed by their son, Yashvardhan.
