Govinda’s wife Sunita Ahuja calls out Bollywood nepotism: "How many times will you see the same actor?"

Sunita Ahuja, wife of Bollywood icon Govinda, has taken a strong stance against nepotism in the Hindi film industry. In a recent interview, she expressed her frustration over how opportunities are often restricted to a select group of star kids, sidelining other talented individuals. Sharing her perspective, she highlighted her daughter Tina Ahuja’s struggle to find her footing in the industry despite being eager and ready to work. Talking with Pinkvilla, Sunita questioned the prevailing favoritism in Bollywood, stating, “Give people a chance to work. Stop nepotism. Give others a chance to work too”. She expressed disappointment with how the industry often revolves around the same set of actors, leaving little room for fresh faces and new talent.


According to Sunita, the current system favors those within a specific group, where work is circulated among a few individuals. She pointed out that this practice stifles diversity and excludes numerous deserving aspirants waiting for their chance. “You all work in one group. Give everyone a chance”, she remarked.

Sunita emphasized the need for change, urging industry leaders to move beyond established groups and introduce fresh talent. She warned that the over-reliance on the same actors might lead to monotony, asking, “How many times will you see the same actor?"

The wife of the legendary actor stressed that Bollywood needs to evolve and allow individuals from regular families to showcase their talent. She believes that this inclusivity will ensure its long-term sustainability.
