'Gully Boy' trailer is out and fans can't stop gushing about the amazing trailer. Director
Zoya Akhtar, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt and
Farhan Akhtar were present at the launch and talked about the story of the film. Recently, she was quizzed about the storyline and the lead actor Ranveer Singh and this is what she said.
Talking about the story Zoya said that she saw a video of
Divine and
Naezy in 2014 and he had put up a song and that's the first time she actually saw a real authentic "gully
rap
". It got stuck in her head and from that moment till now it is with her.
When she was quizzed about Ranveer Singh, the director said that he is extremely sensitive, he is an actor so he knows what he has to do and he takes his particular part on. Sometimes, during his first take he takes out all his energy out and from the next take, he takes it.
Zoya revealed that the film is not a biopic of Naezy and Divine. This is a completely fictional story. It is inspired by their music and they worked with her on the film to make it look authentic. They were the people she would talk to, they were the people who took her into their lives and showed her how it's done and when its started. There are a lot of things from their lives through the film but this is not exact biopic its the fiction drama.
The film is slated to release on 14th February 2019.
