Neetu Kapoor, who ruled the silver screen in the 60s, 70s and early 80s, turns 65 today. The actor, who tied the knot with late Rishi Kapoor in 1980, gave up acting to build a family, and soon gave birth to daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahani, followed by son Ranbir Kapoor. After spending many years away from the arclights, Neetu marked a comeback to the screen, starring in movies like Love Aaj Kal, Do Dooni Chaar, Jugjugg Jeeyo and others. Last year, Neetu became a grandmother as Alia gave birth to her first child, a baby girl named Raha. Once, during an interview, Neetu was asked how Ranbir strikes a balance between his wife and mother. To this, the actor replied that her son gives equal importance to both, and knows how to prioritize when and where. She also added that the problem stems when men become 'joru ka ghulam' and ignore their parents for the wife, but Ranbir makes sure that he gives equal importance to both the women in his life.

Neetu Kapoor is a doting mother-in-law and always has the nicest things to say for Alia. In an interview, Neetu said that Alia is pure at heart and free of malice, which makes it so much easier to bond with her. She also said that there is a lot of mutual respect between the two of them, which makes their bond even stronger. Neetu is always Alia's biggest supporter and is often seen sharing her trailers, movie posters and international looks on her social media.

Neetu is a doting grandmother and has even named her little bundle of joy. Neetu's husband, actor Rishi Kapoor lost his battle to Cancer in 2020. After this death, Neetu decided to take up more work and maintained a dignified and positive attitude towards life. When quizzed about it, she said that Rishi would have liked to see her live life to the fullest and keep herself independent, and she is doing just that to keep him alive in everyone's memories.
