Sonu Sood, who turns a year old today, started his career with regional films but has carved a niche for himself in Bollywood by delivering back to back stellar performances on the silver screen. From playing the antagonist in several blockbuster films to winning over the audience with his brilliant performance as the lead actor, Sonu has never shied away from experimenting with his on-screen roles.

Sonu Sood teamed up with Rohit Shetty to play the main antagonist in Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan starrer 'Simmba'. The film turned out to be a huge hit as it earned Rs 239.84 crore at the box office but Sonu stunning performance was hailed by the critics as well as the audience. The film turned out to be one of the highest-grossing films of 2018 as well.

The talented birthday boy teamed up with the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan and others for Farah Khan 2014 film 'Happy New Year' and managed to leave a lasting impression with his excellent performance. Despite the mixed reactions, the film went on to mint Rs 178.41 crore in the domestic circuit and helped Sonu Sood prove his skills as an actor.

One of Salman Khan's most popular cop franchise 'Dabangg' featured Sonu Sood as the menacing Chedi Singh. Not only did he go head to head with the Bhaijaan of Bollywood in the film but also carved a niche for himself in Bollywood. While the film raked in a gross total of Rs 141.24 crore at the box office, 'Dabangg' went on to become one of the most famous cop franchises in Bollywood.

Anees Bazmee's comedy-drama 'Singh Is Kinng' which featured Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in lead roles left the audience in splits. The 2008 film which turned out to be a blockbuster at the box office with Rs 67.90 crore saw Sonu Sood in an integral role of Lakhan Singh aka Lucky. Apart from them, the film also starred Om Puri, Neha Dhupia and others in pivotal roles.

Shahid Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha's action film 'R... Rajkumar' which was helmed by Prabhu Deva featured the birthday boy as the main antagonist. Despite mixed reviews from the critics, the actioner managed to mint Rs 65.99 crore in the domestic circuit. Sonu, who was running high on the success of 'Dabangg' had once again managed to weave his magic on the silver screen.
