Taapsee Pannu is all set to explore a different genre in her upcoming film ‘

Game Over

’. The talented actress plays a nyctophobic — a person who has extreme fear of the darkness. Her character also battles anxiety issues and is wheelchair-bound. In the past, the only time Taapsee has acted in a supernatural film was ‘

Kanchana 2

’, which released back in 2015.
In a recent interview, Taapsee admitted that playing a woman, who suffered from so many issues and had her house broken into, was not easy. She said that she had to understand all the emotions that people who undergo trauma go through. These include post traumatic stress, anniversary effect and low self-confidence. Taapsee said that in order to understand her character better, she took help from the film’s co-writer

Kavya Ramkumar

. Kavya’s family works with an NGO based in Pondicherry which helps people going through post-trauma stress disorders.
Taapsee said that since she had not undergone something like this herself, it would be difficult to portray the same onscreen. That is when she took Kavya’s help to understand the reasoning and logic behind the reactions of such people and incorporate them in her performance. The actress also read a lot on the subject, watched documentaries and spoke to people who knew those who suffered from such conditions. Taapsee thought it would be unkind to meet trauma survivors just for research, which is why she decided to take this approach to play her character. The thriller, which is being presented by Anurag Kashyap, will release later this year.
