According to reports, the title of the film 'Kesari' symbolizes courage, bravery, and sacrifice. 'Kesari' is the colour of the turbans worn by the 21 Sikh soldiers who fought back ferociously against the Afganis in the battle of Saragarhi.
The film has Akshay Kumar saying the dialogue, "Aaj meri pagdi bhi Kesari, jo bahega mera lahoo bhi Kesari aur mera jawab bhi Kesari".
'Kesari' is directed by popular Punjabi director Anurag Singh and produced by Karan Johar. The film will also see Parineeti Chopra romancing Akshay Kumar for the first time. The film is based on the historic Battle of Saragarhi where 21 Sikhs soldiers fought against 10,000 Afghans in 1897. The film is slated to hit the theaters on 21st March 2019.
