Himesh Reshammiya's father and veteran music director Vipin Reshammiya's last rites will take place today in Mumbai

Famous music director Vipin Reshammiya, father of singer-composer Himesh Reshammiya, passed away on September 18, 2024, at the age of 87.

The Reshammiya family has now released a heartfelt statement announcing his passing: "It is with profound grief that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father Shri Vipin Reshammiya on 18th September, 2024. A kind soul with a heart full of love, his presence lit up the lives of all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, wisdom, cherished memories, and timeless music."

His last rites are scheduled for today at 11:30 AM at Oshiwara Crematorium in Mumbai.

According to reports from news agency ANI, Vipin Reshammiya's death occurred at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, where he had been receiving treatment for his breathing difficulties and other health complications.
Vanita Thapar, a close family friend, confirmed the news to ETimes, stating, "Yes, he had a breathing problem. He was in Kokilaben and passed away today at 8:30 PM. I am a family friend, more like family. I used to call him papa since the time he was making TV serials. Later, he became a music director, and then Himesh followed in his footsteps. We share a very close bond. Anup Singh, the numerologist, and I were also very close to him."

Vipin Reshammiya, composed scores for several notable films throughout his career. His works include the 1988 film Insaf Ki Jung, the 2014 release The Xpose, which starred his son Himesh Reshammiya in the lead role, and Teraa Surroor. Vipin's contributions to the music industry have left a lasting impact, showcasing his talent and dedication to the art form.
Beyond being Himesh's father, Vipin was also his mentor. In past interviews, he had expressed immense pride in Himesh's musical talent from an early age. This admiration led him to set aside his own aspirations of becoming a music director to focus on nurturing Himesh's career.
