After making films like Raaz, 1920 and Shaapit,
Vikram Bhatt’s ready to scare people again. This time he promises to make the scariest film ever! And he’s got technology to back his directorial skills! The producer-director, along with ASA Productions, is all set to make Haunted, a 3D horror film, which will be India’s first stereoscopic 3D film. “It’s like the film Avatar where it’s shot in 3D and
not converted to 3D from
2D like many people do and pass off as a 3D film,” explainsVikram.
Talking about his films, he says, “I’ve attractedaudiences to my films and managed to scare them. Horror sells the most basicemotion, which is fear. The thrill and the chill sends your adrenaline rushing.Horror and 3D together... that’s the scariest combination. My film’snot for the faint-hearted!”
But, what’s kept him attracted tothis genre? “After my successful trilogy, people wanted me to make anotherfilm, but I didn’t want to make anything similar to what I’d donebefore. What seduced me here was the 3D aspect, that was somethingdifferent.”
Haunted will have extensive special effects done bythe Efx Prasad Studios, Chennai. “The 3D technicians and rigging come
from Canada and they
have the experience of a
lot of 3D filmsincluding the 3D horror – Resident Evil,” says Vikram.
Thefilm stars Mahakshay Chakraborty and new find Tia Bajpai. Mahakshay incidentallyis none other than Mithun Chakraborty’s son Mimoh, who will be seen in anew avatar in this movie, which will have a Christmas release. “Mimoh isan extremely talented boy. Unfortunately, his first film couldn’t do well, but you can’t keep good talent down. He’s somebody to watch outfor,” asserts Vikram.
