Horror movie sequels in Bollywood

Apart from giving us some action-packed masala entertainers and some chartbusting music, Bollywood has also given us movies that gave us goosebumps and nightmares. Horror movies have been one of the most promising genres in Bollywood which is catching up big time of late. As these movies can keep you awake for nights and make you believe in curses and spirits. Horror movies are full of thrill and scary stuff. Here is a list of some nail-biting sequels of some horror movies that are surely worth a watch!

Bollywood celebrities including Saif Ali Khan, Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Sameera Reddy, Isha Koppikar, Nana Patekar, Sohail Khan starred in ‘Darna Mana Hai’. ‘Darna Mana Hai’ consisted of six stories told by the characters in the film. Seven friends get stuck in the middle of a forest when their car breaks down. To keep each other amused, they tell each other horror and supernatural stories that they have heard. The film is the sequel to ‘Darna Mana Hai’. The first part was about five children who get lost in the middle of a forest until they find a haunted house. Inside, there is an old woman who agrees to tell them six scary stories, and they will all compete on who is able to sit through all six stories without getting scared.

Ragini MMS tells us a story of a couple Uday and Ragini who decide to travel and spend some time together. They decide to stay in a house at night and she is unaware that the house is rigged with hidden cameras and Uday plans to record their intimate scenes. They soon learn that the house is haunted. ‘Ragini MMS 2’ starts from the point where the previous film ended. ‘Ragini's MMS’ tapes have gone viral and were already rumours that the house is haunted, where the MMS was filmed. This catches the attention of a director, Rocks who decides to make a movie on the episode. He signs an ex-porn star, Sunny Leone as the lead actress and decides to shoot the movie in the same house where the MMS was recorded. When the crew start their shoot strange things starts to happen at the haunted house.

‘1920’ is a story of Arjun and Lisa who are in love with each other and they decide to move into a mansion in London which they are unaware is haunted. They both are unaware of the danger that awaits them. Lisa gets possessed by a demonic spirit and Arjun decides to save her from it. In ‘1920: Evil returns’, Jaidev, a famous poet, meets a girl who has no recollection of her past. He brings her home and tries to help her but strange and spooky things starts happening. However, the woman is soon possessed by a spirit and things spiral out of control.

‘Phoonk’ is based upon the concept of black magic. Civil engineer and atheist Rajiv lives in Mumbai with his wife Aarti two kids, Raksha and Rohan, Rajiv's mother and the housemaid Laxmi. Soon a series of strange events start to take place in and around Rajiv's house. Sequel to this film is ‘Phoonk 2’. On winning a new construction project, Rajiv moves with his family to a new place, one which is both close to the woods as well as the beach. Rajiv's mother has gone to Rishikesh, so he stays there only with his wife Aarti, 2 kids and housemaid Laxmi. Rajiv's kids, Raksha and Rohan begin exploring the new place and the surrounding. The terror begins with Raksha and Rohan finding a doll in the woods and bringing it home.
