Hrithik Roshan's fake email id case accelerated, police approach US court

Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan had earlier filed an FIR alleging that someone was impersonating him and interacting with his female fan through the email id - hroshan@email.com. The actor claimed the e-mail id in question is not his. A case has been registered under the Information Technology Act and the Indian Penal Code.

According to a report on Koimoi.com, the Mumbai police is sending a Letter Rogatory to a US-based court.The LR is issued by the Indian court to the US court seeking details of the fake email ID and where the emails originated from.
In a recent turn of events, Hrithik went ahead and named Kangana as the 'fan' he was referring to. While the 'Krissh' actor has maintained that the id is fake, Kangana has asserted that it was surely Hrithik who was contacting her through the email id. And earlier this morning, the Cyber Police had summoned Kangana Ranaut and her sister, Rangoli, who happens to be a witness in the incident, for questioning. The women are asked to give their statements within seven days.
For the uninitiated, it all began at a party, when the 'Tanu Weds Manu' actress walked up to Roshan and thanked him for appreciating her performance in 'Queen.' To which Hrithik replied by saying that he had not communicated with her and that the email id she was referring to was fake. The actor slammed a legal notice against the National Award winning actress, demanding a public apology for alleging that they were romantically involved or else he threatened to make public the emails, which allegedly contain provocative and nude pictures and clips of the actress. Kangana countered Hrithik's legal notice with another legal notice. To Hrithik's threat to reveal his communications with her, the notice says: "If he circulates her emails, images and/or other material which your client willingly received in good faith from my client then upon such circumstances it shall be rightfully deemed that your client is wilfully seeking to not only defame her and issue unwarranted threats. These actions shall be taken "extremely seriously." She will then have no option but to file criminal proceedings against your client, at his risk, costs and consequences."
