The monochromatic doodle features three images of Lata ji. In one, she could be seen singing with a mic stand, while in another with veena in her hands. The third image is a framed picture of a young Lata. Along with the picture, they wrote, ‘Hum jahan jahan chalenge aapka saaya saath hoga'," in referencing to her memorable song 'Tu jahan jahan chlega
mera saaya
saath hoga,' from 1966 cult classic 'Mera Saaya'.
Lata Mangeshkar passed away at the age of 92 due to multiple organ failure. She was admitted to the hospital on January 8 after she was diagnosed with COVID-19 and pneumonia.
The legendary singer’s last rites were conducted at Shivaji Park in Mumbai with full state honours. High profile politicians, actors and singers made their presence felt at the venue to pay their last respect to the Nightingale of India.
