, Uttar Pradesh is a canvas with vivid shades and that is why he heads to UP for his film shoots. This time Vishal was in Lucknow for a creative supervision of a

music video shoot

during which the filmmakers spoke to us too.
Sharing more about his recent visit Vishal, informs, “This time it was a short but very busy visit to Lucknow. I was here to creatively supervise a music video. The music video is directed by my assistant Saqib Sheikh and stars Bhojpuri actor Pawan Kumar.”

Despite his busy schedule in Lucknow, Vishal took out time for the recce of his upcoming film, which he will be shooting in the second half of this year in Lucknow. “Earlier, I have shot Marudhar Express and Hotel Milan in Kanpur and now I have planned to shoot my film in Lucknow. The plot of the film is based on a true story and actor Vivek Oberoi will be playing the lead role in the film. The reason behind my coming to Uttar Pradesh for shooting my films is that all the cities of the state have their own feel. It has these vivid shades of canvas which are very interesting.

Feel wise Kanpur is very different from Lucknow and similarly, Varanasi is very different from these two cities. Kuchh stories ko kehne ke liye specific feel aur background ki zarurat hoti hai aur woh UP main asaani se mil jaati hai.” Vishal goes on to add, “Yeh baat India ke kisi aur state main nahi milti hai. In UP food, language and culture changes at every 100 kilometers. Also, the people of UP have got used to film shoots and this has made shooting easy for us in the state,” says Vishal. With more and more biopics being made in Bollywood, Vishal has also joined the league and now he is planning to make a biopic on Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal. “This is another important project, which is in the pipeline. Presently, I am in talks with the producers. If all goes well then this film will also be shot in Ghaziabad and Meerut. For lead I have planned to approach Rajkummar Rao or Manoj Bajpayee,” says Vishal.

Launching Shweta Tiwari’s daughter Palak in a film and Sushmita Sen’s brother Rajeev in another, Vishal is full of praises for his prodigies. “Palak is a surprise. Considering she’s new in the profession, I found her to be very well trained and a disciplined actor. Our film story is such that we neded a new face to play the lead, someone who didn’t have a history in films and one who will suprise the audience, and Palak fit the bill perfectly. She’s a very talented girl,” says Vishal. For Rajeev too, Vishal says, he’s also very good at his craft. “He’s very hardworking and very talented. It’s a pleasure to be working with these two new actors.”
