Brief us about your upcoming movie Sorry Bhai and your character in the flick.
Sorry Bhai is a light-hearted family entertainer, which conveys the emotions of a family in a refreshing way. I am paired with Sanjay Suri who plays Harsh in the movie. I am his fianc who is feeling neglected as Harsh is not being able to spend time with her. It's a really beautiful character with many shades and I am so proud of been chosen for this amazing character.
Apart from the stupendous characterization, I think the exquisite story line itself is the USP of the film.
You have been away from the glam world for nearly four years, what brought you back - your love for cinema or Sorry Bhai?
I had taken a break to enjoy every bit of my life, but now I feel it is high time for me to return to my work. I am now focusing completely on my career and my agenda for now is Sorry Bhai.
I don't want to leave any scope of error and I know that my film will do exceptionally well at the box-office. I firmly believe that being an actor gives you an insight into performing various kinds of characters. I find this really thrilling.

So I reverted back to my career due to my love for my profession and secondly I was taken in by the script of Sorry Bhai. The script was so diligently put up; I could not afford to lose such a wonderful opportunity.
Do you consider Sorry Bhai as your comeback movie or another beginning in the industry?
I believe, Sorry Bhai is the best bet as a comeback venture through which I plan to reach to my fans once again. It is a superb movie and I could probably not ask for anything better. From day one, working on Sorry Bhai was a pleasure. And, I think it is a perfect film for my second innings in Bollywood.
As you fall in love with your fianc's younger brother in the movie, do you think this makes this character morally questionable?
I believe playing such a bold character in the Indian scenario may raise many eyebrows, but for me as an actor it was a very innovative character as I could improvise a lot on it and even had ample room to showcase my acting skills.
It's a role which you get probably after a lot of hard work. Therefore, I could not miss out on it. I also share the same morals and values like any other Indian woman, but there's nothing vulgar in the character.
I accepted this challenge, as I was comfortable enough to portray the role that is very strong and grounded.
Apart from you, who are the most interesting characters in the movie?
This is very tough; all the actors have portrayed awesome characters in the flick. All of them are enormously talented people, so it is difficult to choose any one of them.
I believe Sharman Joshi has done a wonderful job and justified his character with panache. He is an affable person who exudes charm and grace on screen. Since he has been in the industry for quite sometime now, he has gained experience and has become a versatile actor. He genuinely has made the character of Siddhart lovable.
How was the experience of working with actors like Boman Irani, Shabana Azmi, Sanjay Suri and Sharman Joshi?
It was really wonderful to work with this talented crop of actors who have been a part of the industry for so long. I was little apprehensive regarding my first day as after a long break I was facing the camera, but they convinced me to relax.
I performed my shots and after every scene, they motivated me. They are truly great co-actors one could ask for. I won't ever forget the support given to me because without that it would have been very difficult for me.
With Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi you created an image of a serious actor, with Sorry Bhai are you looking forward to break that image.
Every actor wants to feel the charm of different characters and the same holds true for me. I take up roles that appeal me. Be it serious or romantic, I don't hold any inhibitions of being typecast as I choose a role with full conviction of my capabilities. I also keep feelings of the viewers in mind, as you gain fame with their appreciations and praise.
From Hazaaron.... to Sorry Bhai, how do you think you have grown as an actor?
This journey gave me an opportunity to express my thoughts as an actor to a great extent. It has been a humbling experience. It has helped me to grow both personally and professionally.
While selecting a movie, what stands for you on priority- the cast, director, banner or the script?
For me, the script plays a major part in any movie, as it is the backbone of a film. And after playing such an applauded character in Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi I have achieved consciousness regarding the selection of roles.
You are married to ace Indian golfer Jyoti Randhawa. Was marrying an industry outsider a deliberate decision? How does it influence your career now?
My marriage to Jyoti has been a very colorful experience. I feel my relationship is really special. My hubby is a really hard working guy and I support him in his career and same is the case with him. My husband understands the demands of my job and supports me in my decisions. So it makes my career go smooth and I feel at ease too.
You are married and a mother of one, do you think it makes you misfit for some of the roles in Bollywood?
I firmly believe being married and having a family is in no way hampering my career. It's not a criteria to opt or opt-out of a role. Many actresses have staged a come back into the industry after their marriage. And they are still very successful and getting good offers.
As a viewer what do you prefer- serious films or commercial cinema?
I am game for any kind of film, which entertains and provides me with ample scope of experiencing happiness and laughter. As an actor too, I don't want to get typecast into a specific kind of cinema, I feel all types of cinema have their own charm and audience.
So apart from work what else keeps Chitrangada Singh busy?
I love to do multi-tasking. Apart from my shooting schedules, I love to spend time with my kid and family. I also accompany my hubby to his tours. I am enjoying my life to the fullest; what else can one ask for guys?
What are the other projects you are working on?
There some interesting projects lined up. I have signed Sudhir Mishra's Johhny Company where I play a courtesan. The role is very beautiful and to get into its skin I am going through Urdu poetry and listening to the tapes to get my pronunciation right.
Your expectation with Sorry Bhai...
I hope Sorry Bhai shows the spirit of honest relations and touches the hearts of those who watch it. I genuinely had a blast working with Onir and it was a terrific experience.
