Ileana D'Cruz: I do know a few people who'd say, 'I am married, but I like that guy'

have been creating quite a buzz on social media, but the actress says that the vacation was 'much-needed' after completing a film like

'Rustom'

. "It was mentally draining and exhausting to play someone who is not perfect. She goes through an emotional journey in the film. I don't have many dialogues; it was all about expressions and it required a certain level of honesty to convey emotions only through expressions. I was really exhausted by the end of it. So I finished all my commitments and dashed off to a location where there was no network. I was holidaying in Fiji," she says, adding, "Fiji was amazing and I am a complete romantic. I am a mushy, cheesy romantic' I am terrible. I can embarrass the hell out of a person, I am so cheesy."

You can get attracted to someone even if you love your spouse
To play a character that has its flaws was something that drew Ileana to a film like 'Rustom', which is said to be inspired from the real life incident of naval officer KM Nanavati. "We do maintain that it is inspired by a lot of cases, not that particular one. I am not at liberty to tell which incidents though," says Ileana, who plays the wife of a naval officer and is caught cheating on her husband. "I was not hesitant at all to play the role. In fact, I told my director that I loved this girl. I liked the fact that she was flawed. I have always said that we are just actors and not stars. We are just playing a certain character on screen ' we are not perfect as opposed to what you might see in a film. I liked the fact that there are these traits about her that you would find in other women too. I think everybody goes through it. She made a wrong choice and had to face the consequences."

She adds, "I do know a few people who'd say, 'I'm married, but I like that guy.' Everybody goes through it and you can be attracted to somebody else irrespective of the fact that you love your spouse. Whether to act on it or not is an individual's call. I liked the fact that it was a different perspective. Normally, we see a man hitting on a woman and the woman is like, 'nahi, yeh nahi ho sakta.' The role was incredibly challenging for me, both emotionally and physically."
I don't watch many Hindi films
She might be doing an intense role in 'Rustom', but Ileana says she prefers watching cartoons over films. She says, "I don't watch a lot of Hindi films. But I love animated movies, they are relaxing and fun. I love watching 'Looney Tunes', 'Flintstones', 'Tom & Jerry'. I am not one of those artsy kinds who would watch serious films."
