Dewas-born actress and former Miss India Neha Hinge was in Indore recently and got talking with us about her love for the state. “I have spent so many years in Madhya Pradesh, and it is a big part of my existence. I’m not just an MP-born, but I’m also closely attached to the people here,” said Neha. Talking about visiting Indore, she said, “I have a lot of memories associated with the city.
I still remember how our group of friends and cousins would come to Indore from Dewas during holidays. Indore wasn’t that developed back then, but for us it was no less than New York! So, I never miss a chance to visit MP.”
Being a small-towner, did she face any problems in establishing a foothold in the entertainment industry? “Not at all. In fact, I’m thankful to my small-town values that I’m grounded. MP has instilled respect in me for my traditions and culture.
Hum jaise chhote shehron ke log hi zindagi ko puri tarah se jeena jaante hain. Even during the Miss India pageant in 2010, there were many girls from the metros, but the panel of judges selected me for the title of Miss International. I’m sure they would have seen something in me. So, I’m very proud to hail from a small town,” Neha said.
