Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD has brought back the age old epic Mahabharata back in vogue. He has based the roots of his futuristic film in the tales of the epic, with Amitabh Bachchan playing the immortal Ashwatthama and by the end of the film, he reveals that Vijay Deverakonda is playing Arjuna and the Rebel Star Prabhas is Karan.

But there is another character that has intrigued the audience a lot, and many theories have been doing the rounds of the internet about Dulquer Salmaan’s character. In the film, his character is called Captain who raises Prabhas’ character Bhairava and teaches him ways of the dystopian world. But Captain loses Bhairava in a gamble and in return Bhairava gets him arrested by Kamal Haasan’s men.

Now the theory doing the rounds is that Dulquer plays the role of Lord Parshuram who was the teacher of Karan. This theory does fall in place by the end of the film, when it is revealed that Prabhas is the reincarnation of Karan. Another aspect of theory is that Lord Parshuram was said to never age and always look the same, the theme repeats itself with Dulquer as well, as he looks exactly the same while Bhairava grows up to become a lanky teenager by the time he snitches on Captain’s character and gets him arrested.
