'Is he the hero?': How Kajol reacted to seeing Ajay Devgn on the sets of 'Hulchul'

Kajol and Ajay Devgn are undoubtedly one of Bollywood’s most loved couples. The power couple has been together for twenty-four glorious years. Here’s a look at Kajol’s reaction when she met Ajay for the first time.

First impressions on Hulchul sets

In an old interview with Hindustan Times, "I met him on the sets of Hulchul, it was our first day at the shoot. My producer came over and told me ‘that’s the hero over there’. He was sitting on a chair in a corner and I was ‘Really? Is he the hero?’ I was 19 and had this image of a hero who is supposed to be a larger-than-life creature who walks on to the set and everybody around goes to him. That did not happen, and I was expecting that, maybe."





Elaborating further, he added, "Then of course, we started shooting and I realised he is one of those guys who talks only when he has something to say. We got to be friends, and I was talking, and he was listening most of the times."

Bazmee on their on-set chemistry

In an interview with Mashable India, Bazmee recalled his experience working alongside Kajol and Ajay. “They fell in love, and I’m so happy they got married. They have such a successful marriage,” he shared, noting that their dynamic complements each other beautifully. Reflecting on their personalities, he added, “Ajay is quite serious, but there’s a playful side to him that not many see. He stays calm and collected. Kajol, on the other hand, is bubbly, mischievous, and full of life. Together, they create a wonderful balance.”



Bazmee also revealed that he sensed their mutual affection even before they openly expressed it. “I realised that they liked each other without them saying anything about it. I was very happy when they got married,” he said, noting how naturally their love blossomed during their time working together."
