Rajesh Khanna, India’s first superstar, left a lasting impact on cinema. Now, his granddaughter Naomika Saran is set to carry forward his legacy, reportedly making her Bollywood debut this year.
According to PeepingMoon, Naomika will debut in a romantic comedy by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films alongside Agastya Nanda, Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson. While details remain secret, insiders hint at a signature Maddock film with a commercial love story, lively music, energetic dance, and engaging family drama.
Acclaimed Punjabi filmmaker Jagdeep Sidhu, known for Qismat, Shadaa, and Jatt & Juliet 3, will direct the film, marking his Hindi cinema debut. Previously, he worked as a dialogue writer for biopics like Saand Ki Aankh and Srikanth.
At 21, Naomika Saran has drawn attention for her striking resemblance to grandmother Dimple Kapadia. She is Rinke Khanna and Sameer Saran’s daughter. Growing up in a film family, she always aspired to act. Now, under Dinesh Vijan’s guidance, she is set to fulfill her dream and continue the legacy.
This untitled film is special as it brings together the grandchildren of legends Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan, decades after Anand (1971) and Namak Haraam (1973). While Naomika debuts, Agastya Nanda has already starred in The Archies and is filming Sriram Raghavan’s Ikkis, produced by Maddock Films.
Naomika’s debut film joins Maddock Films’ ambitious lineup, which includes over a dozen projects in development. This also features eight recently announced films expanding its successful horror-comedy universe.
