The Marakech International Film Festival is celebrating Indian films in a big way in its 12th edition. And making India's presence a royal affair is Jodhaa Akbar. It’s been a while since
Ashutosh Gowariker released his magnum opus
Jodhaa Akbar. But, this 2008 film is still winning accolades internationally and proof of this is that it has been selected to be screened at the Marrakech International Film Festival to be held in Morocco in December.
The Jemaa El Fna Square, where approximately 50,000 people are expected, will come alive on December 5, the day when the film will screened. An elated Gowariker said, “I am extremely happy and would really like to thank the Marrakech Internationational Film Festival for selecting
Jodhaa Akbar. This is an honour for me to showcase my film along with the greatest stars and filmmakers presenting their films at the festival.”
Jodhaa Akbar is a sixteenth century love story about a marriage of alliance that gave birth to true love between a great Mughal emperor, Akbar and a Rajput princess, Jodhaa, with
Hrithik Roshan and
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead roles. The films has been produced by Ashutosh Gowariker Productions and UTV and directed by Ashutosh Gowariker.
