On Saturday, Juhi Chawla took to Twitter to complain about an unpleasant smell that has taken over South Mumbai. The actress asked netizens if they have noticed the new ‘stench’ in the air, which she stated was like ‘living in a sewer’.
“Has anyone noticed … there is a STENCH in the air in Mumbai …??? Earlier one could smell this while drivingpast the khaadis ( almost stagnant polluted water bodies near worli and bandra , mithi river ) now it’s all across south mumbai … that & a strange chemical polluted air,” tweeted Juhi. She further added, “day and night ……..it’s like we’re living in a sewer.” Agreeing with Juhi, one netizen tweeted, “Exactly I was thinking the same. Something is very wrong. The smell is so strong that it doesn't leave the car for a few minutes. I don't know how the people are living in such poor condition” another user wrote, “Pls drive past Mulund East early morning… the stench gets worse.” One Twitter user also took a dig at the actress and replied to Juhi, “It seems you have started coming out from your dream world. No offence should be taken please, you are still my one of favorite actress. Mumbai is still the same, change is just in you. You have started noticing.”
Juhi Chawla is a self confessed nature lover who plans a host of trees on birthdays of her family and friends. Previously, Juhi Chawla had hit headlines after she had filed a petition against the 5G technology in the Delhi High Court. The actress had stated that she is not against 5G but wants the authorities to certify that it was 'safe'.
