Post his acting debut with Siddharth P Malhotra and Aditya Chopra’s Maharaj, Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan is all set to make his big screen debut with Loveyappa. The film is a Hindi remake of Tamil film Love Today, and he is paired opposite Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s daughter Khushi Kapoor in the film.
Not many are aware that Junaid, before he embarked on his acting journey into the films, underwent a massive body transformation which led to him lose about 26 kgs. In fact, his brother-in-law Nupur Shikhare ( Ira’s husband) is certified fitness trainer and has trained names like Sushmita Sen and Aamir Khan himself. But when asked in an exclusive interview with ETimes about Nupur’s involvement, Junaid said “ He wasn’t… he’s something else … cannot compete there. By the time I auditioned for Laal, I had begun losing weight, in a year, I lost a bunch of weight, and about a year later Maharaj happened. At that time Adi Sir said, "look you've lost a lot of weight and you are looking really good, but a little more. So I took 2 years to lose the weight.”
Loveyappa is slated to release on 7th February, and post that, Junaid has another film lined up with Sai Pallavi, who was last seen with Siva Karthikeyan in Amaran. This untitled film is backed by Aamir Khan and is being directed by Sunil Pandey. Junaid will also be turning producer with a film under his dad’s banner, details about which are stull underwraps.
