K. C. Bokadia: At its core, Teesri Begum is a story of women finding strength in adversity
Veteran filmmaker K. C. Bokadia’s latest release Teesri Begum is showing steady growth in its second week, with the film drawing strong interest from women and family audiences across several cities. Released on a limited number of screens, the film has benefited from positive word-of-mouth, prompting some theatres to add shows in response to audience demand. In Jodhpur, screenings at Nasrani Carnival reportedly saw a notable turnout from women viewers.
Teesri Begum explores themes such as women’s struggles, emotional exploitation, courage and social issues. The film’s emotional narrative and music appear to be resonating with audiences, particularly among family viewers.
The film stars Kainaat Arora, Mugdha Godse, Kevin Gandhi, Rana Jung Bahadur, Supriya Karnik, Rachna Shyam and Amit Gaur in key roles.
Reacting to the response, Bokadia said, “It feels wonderful to see the love women audiences are giving to the film. Audiences gave immense love to my earlier films and now they are showering the same affection on Teesri Begum as well. It is all God’s blessings. At its core, Teesri Begum is a story of women finding strength in adversity”
With over six decades in the industry and more than 60 films to his credit, Bokadia’s latest directorial appears to be finding an audience through its socially rooted themes and emotional storytelling.
