Kabir Bedi on turning 80 in Goa: The energy here gives me a sense of centeredness
Veteran actor Kabir Bedi recently chose the tranquil shores of Goa to celebrate his 80th birthday on January 16 and his 10th wedding anniversary with wife Parveen Dusanj. Rather than opting for a grand celebration, the couple embraced stillness and nature.
Talking about his bond with Goa, Bedi said, “I’ve been visiting Goa since the ’70s. It’s a place that has grown with time, but the vibe remains the same. It has an unmistakably different vibration compared to other beaches. This time here prompts us to think about how far we’ve come, where we want to go, and what we still want to do.”
Explaining why Goa continues to draw him back, the actor added, “Every time I am here, I think, why don’t I come back more often? I love being here — for my escapes, my getaways, my me time. This time it was for our ‘us time’. It was our wedding anniversary and my birthday. We could have had a big party, and that can always happen later. But this occasion needed together time, alone time, and reflective time.”
‘It’s very healing’
Goa represents calm for him. “It’s a time of introspection. I enjoy the sun, the sand, and the sea in their natural grandeur, beauty, and silence — except for the sound of the waves. These things are very calming, very healing. The energy here gives me a sense of centeredness. I can think back, think forward, be in the present, and enjoy it all in one experience,” he shared.Get the latest entertainment updates from the Times of India, along with the latest Hindi movies, upcoming Hindi movies in 2026 , and Telugu movies.”
