Kajol celebrates 29 years of 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge'; calls it the "OG of Karwa Chauth"

As Bollywood gears up for Karwa Chauth celebrations, Kajol shared a nostalgic moment on Instagram, posting a still from her iconic 1995 film 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' with Shah Rukh Khan. She reminded fans that they are the original "OG of Karwa Chauth," celebrating the film's ongoing legacy as it marks its 29th anniversary.

Sharing the pictures, she penned a note, "29 years to the OG of Karva Chauth… wishing everyone a very hungry and successful Karva chauth .. maybe go to Maratha mandir and see the film

For those unfamiliar, 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge', featuring Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan, includes a memorable Karwa Chauth sequence. In the film, Simran, played by Kajol, is engaged to Kuljeet, portrayed by Parmeet Sethi. However, on the sacred occasion of Karwa Chauth, she chooses not to break her fast with him and instead creates a plan to break her fast with Raj, played by Shah Rukh Khan.

On the work front, Kajol will next appear in the murder mystery 'Do Patti', which begins streaming on Netflix from October 25, 2024. The film is produced by Kriti Sanon's Blue Butterfly Films in collaboration with Kanika Dhillon's Kathha Pictures. The storyline revolves around twin sisters with deep secrets and a determined police inspector investigating an attempted murder case.
