Kangana Ranaut describes Jaya Bachchan as ‘one of the most dignified women' in the film industry
Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is one of the celebrities who is known to speak her mind and heart without any fear. Recently, the actress was seen praising another very famous name from the film industry Jaya Bachchan, as she called her one of the most dignified women.
Kangana and Jaya do share a past with certain difficulties, but with the recent statement of Ranaut, it appears the actress has nothing but sheer respect for Bachchan. While talking to News18, she said, “Jaya Bachchan ji is a very reputed actor of our film industry. Honestly, she's known for her short temper, but at the same time, I'd like to give her the acknowledgement and due credit that in those times… you can imagine that in the 1970s, at a time when women had to roast their skin in the (harsh) lighting, she did films like Guddi back then.”
According to Kangana, Jaya sent a message of women's empowerment through her work, and she did that when this concept of empowerment was not even recognized in the industry. “She's one of the most dignified women in the film industry. The way she carries herself in Rajya Sabha, I feel very good that we have this kind of representation from the film industry,” Kangana added.
During her dialogue with the media outlet, Kangana also addressed her past attack on Jaya Bachchan. For the unversed, in the year 2020, Jaya Bachchan during a Parliament session, following the death of Sushant Singh Rajput said that people employed by the film industry are themselves attacking it. Responding on the same, Ranaut said, “That's fine. If we say something to each other. I believe she's elder to us. If she said something to us, we should take it in stride.”
Besides being an active member of politics, both Jaya and Kangana are known for their acting prowess. The actresses have many successful movies under their belts, and they continue to entertain the audience with their work. While Jaya was last seen in the 2023 blockbuster, ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,’ Kangana is gearing up for the release of her upcoming movie - ‘Emergency.’
