Karisma Kapoor joins Sunjay Kapur’s wife Priya Sachdev in prayer meet; Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Neha Dhupia offer support

Karisma Kapoor was seen offering prayers alongside Priya Sachdev, the current wife of her late ex-husband Sunjay Kapur, at an emotional prayer meet held in Delhi. The solemn gathering took place on June 22 at the Taj Palace Hotel, following Sunjay’s untimely demise on June 12 during a polo match in England. He was 53.

Earlier in the day, Karisma was spotted at a private airport in Mumbai with her children Samaira and Kiaan, heading to the capital for the prayer service. She was later joined by her sister Kareena Kapoor Khan and brother-in-law Saif Ali Khan, who stood by her side throughout the ceremony.


Karisma and Priya unite in shared loss

A poignant video from the prayer meet shows Karisma, her children Samaira and Kiaan, and Priya Sachdev standing together in prayer, putting the past behind them to honour Sunjay’s memory as a family. Priya was accompanied by her son Azarias and daughter Safira.



The rare moment of unity was widely shared on social media, striking a chord with many for its quiet grace and mutual respect between the two women bound by shared history and children.

Kareena, Saif, and Neha Dhupia offer support

Kareena and Saif were seen arriving with Karisma at the venue, providing emotional support during the difficult time. A visibly distraught Karisma was consoled by family and friends, including actor Neha Dhupia, who has long been a close friend of the actress.

In one video captured by paparazzi, Karisma appeared devastated as she stood near a large photograph of Sunjay surrounded by flowers, while guests continued to offer their condolences.

Remembering Sunjay Kapur

Sunjay Kapur was the chairman of Sona Comstar, a leading global supplier of automotive components, with a strong presence in the electric vehicle (EV) space. Known for his business acumen and passion for polo, Sunjay tragically passed away mid-game in the UK, reportedly after a severe allergic reaction triggered by accidentally swallowing a bee.




He was previously married to designer Nandita Mahtani before tying the knot with Karisma Kapoor in 2003. The couple separated in 2016 after a high-profile legal battle and shared two children. Sunjay later married entrepreneur Priya Sachdev, with whom he had a son, Azarias, and raised her daughter Safira from a previous marriage.
