Karisma Kapoor once SLAMMED two-timing rumours; DENIED dating Ajay Devgn and Jeh Wadia

Relationship rumours with Ajay Devgn

During the early 1990s, Karisma was rumoured to be dating Ajay Devgn. The duo worked in several films together like 'Jigar', 'Suhaag' and 'Shaktiman'. Things took a strange turn when she was accused of two-timing Ajay and businessman Jeh Wadia.

Karisma Kapoor addressed two-timing allegations publicly

In a 1993 interview with Stardust magazine, Karisma addressed the rumours. She said, “Believe me, we’re just friends yaar. I don’t know if he feels that way about me because he’s not told me anything. But I don’t think that’s possible. People are only coming to this conclusion because it’s the most obvious one. Firstly, he saved my life, and secondly, we’ve signed so many films together.”

She added, “Some stupid fools have even gone ahead and written that we’re getting married. C’mon, I’m a kid myself; how do you expect me to get married at this age? It’s so funny, really.”

Jeh Wadia reacted angrily from London

The rumours also reached Jeh Wadia, who was dating Karisma at the time. She recalled, “You know Jeh (Wadia) called me up from London and screamed, ‘What’s all this I’m reading about you? Did you get into the film industry for all this?’ he asked me angrily. Now he’s coming down in a couple of weeks’ time. Wonder how I’m going to face him. See, all this tension I’ve to face due to no fault of mine.”

Karisma Kapoor maintained professional film collaborations

Despite the personal rumours, Karisma and Ajay Devgn continued to work together in films. Their frequent collaborations led to public speculation, but she made it clear that their bond was purely professional.

Later marriage and family life

In 2003, Karisma married Delhi-based businessman Sunjay Kapur in a grand ceremony. They had two children but divorced seven years later, officially ending their marriage in 2016.
