Karisma Kapoor's ex-mother-in-law Rani Kapur slams late Sunjay Kapur's wife Priya Sachdev for hiding his net worth
The legal battle for Karisma Kapoor's ex-husband, the late Sunjay Kapur's, massive fortune has been ongoing since his demise in June this year. The actress' children and the businessman's third wife, Priya Sachdev, are in line to inherit the property, reportedly worth Rs 30000 crore. Amidst this, the late business tycoon's mother has lashed out at his widow, Priya.
As per the report, Rani Kapur's lawyer, senior advocate Vaibhav Gagga, made an argument, saying, "Massive concealment. This house (farmhouse in Delhi’s Rajokri area) is built by my late husband. There are more than 50 pieces of artwork there…"
Reportedly, the lawyer further stated, "This gentleman (Sunjay) had no life insurance, no rental income, and mutual funds? Just his salary was Rs 60 crore, and we are saying that he has only Rs 1.7 crore in his accounts."
Requesting the court for an interim order, he argued, "My lady may seek details of 2 years, not just of Mr. Kapur but also of Defendant No. 1 (Priya Kapur) because the money has moved. Any interim order must be in the nature of status quo ante because the money has moved across borders, potentially."
The report quoted the source saying, "Despite everything Karisma has weathered over the years—a very public divorce, raising two children as a hands-on single mother, and constant scrutiny—she continues to handle this current situation with remarkable dignity. She refuses to let adversity take away her grace."
