Karisma Kapoor’s kids got assets worth Rs 1,900 crore? Delhi HC asks Priya Kapur to disclose estate details amid Sunjay Kapur’s Rs 30,000 crore feud
Karisma Kapoor finds herself at the centre of a high-stakes legal battle following the sudden demise of her ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur, in June this year. Following the unfortunate incident, disputes over his massive Rs 30,000 crore estate erupted.
Amid the legal battle, Karisma Kapoor’s two children have approached the Delhi High Court seeking a share of their late father’s assets. The case, heard today on 10 September 2025, challenges the validity of Sunjay Kapur’s will, setting the stage for a tense courtroom showdown.
The court was hearing a suit filed by Sunjay’s children, along with Karisma Kapoor, asserting their claim to a share of the personal estate. Justice Jyoti Singh issued notice on the plea seeking interim relief and asked to present the list after three weeks.
The court said, “Defendant No. 1 (Priya) will file a list of all assets (of the deceased), immovable and movable, known to her as on June 12, 2025. List after three weeks for consideration of ad-interim injunction at 2:30 PM.”
“I am the last wife. There were acrimonious divorce proceedings between Sunjay and Karisma, ending in the Supreme Court. So much for the love and affection now being shown. At the age of 50, a man dies. I am a widow and have a six-year-old child,” said Priya's lawyer while presenting her side.
On the claims of neglect, Nayyar added, “Where were you all this while? After getting Rs 1,900 crore worth of assets, you suddenly claim you haven’t got anything. You were nowhere to be seen for the last 15 years.”
The High Court examined the will and returned it to Priya’s lawyers but suggested it could be shared with the plaintiffs, Samaira and Kiaan, if they sign a non-disclosure agreement.
Delhi HC directs Priya Kapur to disclose assets
As reported by TOI’s City Desk, the Delhi High Court on Wednesday directed Priya Kapur, Sunjay Kapur’s widow, to disclose all assets, both movable and immovable, as of 12 June 2025, the date of his demise.
Priya Kapur’s counsel responds to court queries
Priya’s lawyer, senior advocate Rajiv Nayyar, admitted that the will was not registered. However, he claimed that it made no difference. He also revealed that just five days before the suit, Sunjay’s children received assets worth Rs 1,900 crore.“I am the last wife. There were acrimonious divorce proceedings between Sunjay and Karisma, ending in the Supreme Court. So much for the love and affection now being shown. At the age of 50, a man dies. I am a widow and have a six-year-old child,” said Priya's lawyer while presenting her side.
The High Court examined the will and returned it to Priya’s lawyers but suggested it could be shared with the plaintiffs, Samaira and Kiaan, if they sign a non-disclosure agreement.
Children question the validity and fairness of the will
Representing the children, senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani argued that the most suspicious part of the will was the exclusion of the children. He said, “Sunjay Kapur was meticulous,” urging the court to pass an interim order freezing any sale or alteration of assets until the matter is resolved.Sunjay Kapur’s mother raises inheritance concerns
Sunjay’s mother, Rani Kapur, also expressed doubts about the will, saying she had been completely excluded. She said, “I have got nothing in the will. I have written 15 emails asking for the documents, show me the papers. Everything is going to Priya Kapur or Karisma’s children. This is suspicious. I am a Class 1 legatee, and now my son leaves me on the road.”When did Sunjay marry Priya?
Sunjay Kapur married Karisma Kapoor in September 2003, and they had two children before divorcing in June 2016. Later, he married Priya Kapur in April 2017, and they had one child together.Top Comment

If my assumption is right, As per hindu inheritance act, grand fathers property(Pitrarjit) is inherited by grand children, any asset that is earned by self(svayarjith) the parent can present a will on its distribution. Perhaps it is greediness of Priya, the surviving widows greed that is prompting to knock court door, depriving the inheritance rights of Sanjay Kapoors children.Read allPost comment
