Kartik Aaryan’s new messy look has been making waves as he prepares to play a passionate rockstar in Anurag Basu’s upcoming film, which is not titled 'Aashiqui 3' due to legal reasons. The film’s title is still a mystery, but last month, the makers introduced Kartik’s leading lady, 'Pushpa 2' star 'Sreeleela,' who is making her Bollywood debut.

Kartik and his family recently hosted a celebration for his sister, Dr. Kritika Tiwari, to mark a milestone in her medical career. His co-star, Sreeleela, was also part of the gathering. A viral video from the party shows Sreeleela dancing with guests while Kartik stands behind her, recording on his phone. At one point, she starts doing the hook step from 'Pushpa 2’s' song 'Kissik,' only to realize that Mast Qalandar is playing instead. She blushes and jumps aside, while Kartik bursts into laughter.

Earlier, there were reports that Kartik Aaryan would reunite with his Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 co-star Triptii Dimri for Anurag Basu’s upcoming musical. However, rumors later suggested that Triptii was no longer part of the film as her recent bold roles didn’t suit the character. Addressing this for the first time, Anurag Basu spoke to HT City and shared, “I don’t know what the film is called right now; the shoot starts this month. We have not finalized the female lead yet—it will be announced in a week.”

He added, "Image was not the reason. I am the last person to judge an actor on the basis of the other characters they have played on screen. Aashiqui was not even the story anymore... I don’t know the source of these stories that came out.”

On February 15, 2025, Kartik shared the first glimpse of his upcoming film on Instagram, revealing his new rugged look with long hair and a heavy beard. In the video, he sings Tu Meri Zindagi Hai while playing the guitar in front of a large audience. It also teases his intense chemistry with Sreeleela, showing them riding a bike together and sharing cozy moments near a bonfire. Kartik captioned the post, "This Diwali."
