Katrina Kaif, gearing up for the release of the highly anticipated thriller "Merry Christmas" alongside Vijay Sethupathi, recently shared insights into the linguistic challenges she faced during the film's shoot. The actress, in an interview with Mashable, expressed the stress and difficulty she encountered while learning Tamil for the pan-India film.


Katrina shared that she was very, very stressed and consumed with trying to learn her Tamil lines. She wanted to rehearse in a way that they sound fresh and spontaneous [while shooting]. And that was, for her, a very, very tough task. She finds Tamil and Malayalam really, really difficult. It’s hard to distinguish between the consonants and vowels.



The trailer for "Merry Christmas" introduces a suspenseful narrative set on Christmas Eve. The actress, alongside Vijay Sethupathi, engages in playful banter, and as the night unfolds, unexpected events take place. Katrina expressed her admiration for Vijay Sethupathi's ability to seamlessly switch between Hindi and Tamil, describing him as "phenomenal."


The film, directed by Sriram Raghavan, also features Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kannan, Tinnu Anand, Radhika Sarathkumar, Shanmugaraja, Kevin Jay Babu, Rajesh Williams, and Pari.
