Kusha Kapila's mother recalls feeling shaky as she started crying when someone asked about her daughter's divorce with Zorawar Singh Ahluwalia during her temple visit

Influencer turned actress Kusha Kapila announced her divorce with husband Zorawar Singh Ahluwalia in 2023. Kusha unfortunately faced a lot of trolling because of that and Zorawar defended her. The fact that Zorawar and Kusha had been together for so many years, separation wasn't an easy decision for them, as they mentioned in their note. Clearly, it not only impacted Kusha but also her family, especially her mother.

In an interview, Kusha's mothr Rita Kapila has opened on how emotionally she was hugely impacted with her daughter's divorce. So much so that she was scared to face people, fearing that they would ask about it. She said during a chat with We Are Yuvaa, “When this incident happened and when I used to visit the temple, I started going a bit earlier than usual, so that no one spots me or asks anything. Then, your father once said, ‘Tu kyu darrti hai? Koi kuch nahi poochega tere se (Why are you scared? No one will ask you anything)’. However, one aunty asked something related to this at the temple one day. I was a little shaky during my way home and started crying."

Kusha was also along with her mom in this interview and Rita told her, "Your dad sat and explained to me that it is not a big deal, it is life. ‘Ups and downs will keep coming, you don’t need to feel so much’. He called all my relatives and told them that no one should bother me about this. Then, no one asked me anything ever again. Unn aunty ko bhi kisi ne jaake boldiya, ‘Aap mandir mai yeh sab baatein karne jaate ho?’ (Someone even mocked that aunty for creating gossip at the temple) She even apologised to me after that."

The 'Sukhee' actress was also seen talking about how the society is unkind to women in such cases. She said, "I completely shut myself to opinions or anything. I didn’t have the bandwidth for it. So I am sure my mother can speak very clearly about it."

Post their separation, Kusha and Zorawar continue to remain friends and co-parent their pet Maya together.
