Asha Bhosle passed away at the age of 92 on April 12, 2026. She was laid to rest with full state honors at Mumbai's Shivaji Park. Soon, the late music icon's granddaughter took to her social media to express gratitude for showering love on her grandmother.

Zanai Bhosle, granddaughter of late Asha Bhosle, took to her Instagram story and wrote, "So overwhelmed with emotions, I’ll write something when I can, but I have to say that there were so many people who have respected her and honoured her today and beyond it all shown her so much love."
She added, “I thank you from the bottom of my heart. She deserved every bit of it. I realise that she lives on in every one of us in our hearts forever and she has seen it all from above. Rip legend #asha tai."
Along with the emotional caption, Zanai shared a picture from the funeral procession of Asha Bhosle. The image showcased Asha Bhosle's mortal remains draped in the Indian tricolor and placed on a bier decorated with flowers.

Asha Bhosle was admitted to the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on April 11, 2026. Zanai Bhosle shared that she had a chest infection and extreme exhaustion, contrary to the reports of cardiac arrest. The next day, news about her demise was confirmed by her son, Anand Bhosle. The doctor treating her shared that she passed away due to multiple organ failure.
On April 13, celebs and fans paid their last respects to the legend at her residence in Mumbai in the morning. Later, in the evening, her funeral took place at Shivaji Park in Mumbai.
