Ahead of the trailer launch of Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan's modern-day tale 'Love Aaj Kal', here's a reminder to the Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer released in the year 2009. The film which showcased the difference between two generations and their different approaches towards love. It is considered to be Imitiaz Ali's one of the best directorial and now with the sequel, the expectations are even higher. In an interview talking about the sequel Ali said the screenplay of a love relationship changes with time, however, the basic rules of desire remain the same. Interestingly, in the sequel Saif's daughter Sara is playing the main lead who was just 14 years old when her dad's film released.

As we look forward to tomorrow's theatrical trailer release of the second instalment, here are the 5 things that will refresh your memory of Saif and Deepika starrer

2/6

Deepika Padukone-Saif Ali Khan paired for the first time

Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan were seen sharing the screen space for the first time in Imitiaz Ali's film. Both the actors as Meera and Jai were outstanding. Saif Ali Khan is a delight to watch while Deepika is endearing and eminently watchable in the film. Later, they both were again paired opposite in the 2012 release 'Cocktail'.

3/6

Famous dialogues

The film became very popular for its old school but heartening dialogues. "Pyaar Ik Waar Hi Honda Hai, Raaje.." or "Ye Heer-Ranja, janam-janam ka saath-type wale log ye sirf kahaniyon mein hote hai..." or this one "Wohi Meri Duniya, Wohi Meri Puja..Uske Sivah Nahi Aur Koi Duja", we have heard such lines many times but the way Saif aka Veer and Jai recites, they make you feel emotional.

4/6

Melodious album

Composer Pritam and lyricist Irshad Kamil had manifested a fantastic list of melodious tracks. The peppy songs 'Aahun Aahun' and 'Chor Bazari' were quite refreshing. The soulful romantic numbers 'Yeh Dooriyan' and 'Ajj Din Chadheya' surely tug out heartstrings. Overall the album was extremely good. Even after 10 years, many renditions of the tracks are popular among the listeners.

5/6

Rishi Kapoor's act as the Love Guru

The film was an interpretation of how love has changed over the years and what is the difference between the love that was in 'Kal' as compared to the 'Aaj'. Although Rishi Kapoor had a brief role to play, his part of 'Kal' was the turning point for Saif's 'Aaj' love story. Saif was seen essaying the younger Rishi aka Veer who falls in love with Giselli Monteiro aka Harleen.
