Madhuri Dixit reveals the bizarre reason her neighbor almost called the police on her: 'Somebody's casing your house'
The 'Dhak Dhak' girl of Bollywood, Madhuri Dixit Nene charmed her way into the hearts with her million dollar smile, strong -screen presence and a rare off-screen grace. In a recent candid interview while promoting her latest release, 'Mrs Deshpande', the actress walked down the memory lane to recall a bizarre encounter he had with fans both in India and during her "quiet" years in Denver, USA with husband Dr. Sriram Nene and kids, Arin and Ryan.
The actress recalled a particularly "scary" encounter that eventually forced her family to relocate to Juhu for better security. When Madhuri’s mother opened the door, the man insisted that Madhuri had called him there to "adopt him."
Madhuri Dixit recalled, "I used to live in Andheri first and Tezab had released and I had not moved from there. I was still living there. So, he came to my house, rang the doorbell and he had come with all suitcases and everything, a big, big elderly guy and my mom opened the door and says, yeah he says and he wouldn't leave. So, then we had to get our neighbours you know mobilised and we said please do something because so then they had to like gently tell him that see look there's that explain to him and somehow they got rid of him, put him in a cab and said go back to where you came from."
Dixit said, "Once in a while I used to get spotted. And slowly as the word spread that, you know, I'm living in Denver, people started like coming in cars, passing my house. They go slow? They know this is the house. This is the house. And trying to see if I'm there, if I'm doing something in the garage or the garage is open if I'm there."
She continued, "So once my neighbours didn't know that, we never told them. It was just like, he's a heart surgeon and it's just a family and having kids. So my neighbour who lives opposite to me, they were all Americans all around me. So he called me and he says, you know what? I think somebody's casing your house. And I saw this car pass four or five times and they're slowing down your house and they're kind of keeping an eye on your house. So do you want me to call the cops? Because I'm very concerned. And casing the house means somebody's trying to rob you. So I'm like, no, no, no, no, no, don't do that. You don't know what's going on."
The actress share how she then had to explain that the people spotted outside her house weren't thieves, but fans hoping to catch a glimpse of her in the garage or yard. Once her identity was "busted," her neighbors were shocked. One neighbor even became so addicted to her musicals that he would ask for a new movie every weekend.
