Madhuri Dixit reveals why she did Dil Toh Pagal Hai with Shah Rukh Khan after Koyla and Anjaam: 'We need to do a movie where we are...'

Madhuri Dixit recently recalled an interesting moment when she suggested to Shah Rukh Khan that they should team up for a romantic film, following their intense roles in Anjaam and Koyla. This idea sparked their legendary collaboration in Dil To Pagal Hai, which became an iconic romance.

During an interview with Pinkvilla, Madhuri was shown a picture from Koyla, which reminded her of a thrilling chase scene. She reflected on how she had worked with Shah Rukh Khan on Anjaam before moving on to Koyla. Both films featured intense roles, making their collaboration even more significant.



The actress reflected on the contrasting nature of her roles in Anjaam and Koyla. While Anjaam featured intense scenes where she and Shah Rukh were constantly at odds, Koyla presented a different challenge. In Koyla, they found themselves in a dramatic, chaotic situation, running away in dirty clothes, highlighting the drastic shift in their characters’ circumstances.



Madhuri also reminisced about a conversation with Shah Rukh Khan, where she suggested they star in a romantic film, wanting to portray characters who were well-dressed, clean, and engaged in romantic scenes, as opposed to the intense and gritty roles they had in Anjaam and Koyla. This led to their iconic collaboration in Dil To Pagal Hai.

Madhuri Dixit was recently seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, directed by Anees Bazmee. The film features an ensemble cast including Kartik Aaryan, Triptii Dimri, and Vidya Balan.
